the only people in the hetalia fandom with fully open third eyes are roleplayers who hate canon and make OCs for characters that already exist. the levels they operate on are unparalleled and they are the backbone of our society
I think it’s one of these two options:
- He took Old Prussia’s identity.
- He was Baltic, and went through something similar to Germany, where he has no recollection of his past.
I’ve had the first headcannon in my head for 2 years now and I am so happy to see that someone thinks so as well
I’m personally a BIG Baltic Prussia Origin Theory™️ stan because I too love the spicy drama of Pru forgetting/repressing his past but the idea that Liet hates him for stealing the identity of his sibling (if not straight-up killing them himself) is SO solid as well. They’re honestly both great options that open so many doors for interpretation and fanwork
me talking about how aph lithuania has a level of consistent canonical depth to him that other hetalia characters do not seem to reach in their canon portrayals and that I attribute at least in part to the fact that we’ve seen him have an actual job outside of nationhood when he was working in the u.s., a situation that also showed that nations have followed their people outside their own borders when large groups emigrate, which raises even more questions about the nature of nations themselves, the relationship they have to their people, and the roles they’re put into by their governments
